Crazy Weather

Can you believe it rained?

So unusual for it to rain in these parts

At the end of June!!!

It feels like spring weather...not summer

In spite of all that

My garden has been soaking in the moisture

And the sweet aroma is D-VINE.

A Recycled Potting Bench

It isn't done yet

But I just could not wait to show you...

Ta da...

Look at what DZ and I built this weekend

Well, really DZ did the building

The sawing, measuring, hammering and screwing

I just sat there telling him what I wanted

The cool thing about it..

We reused/reclaimed everything to make it

Did not have to make one trip to the store

How cool is that?

I now have a designated place to pot up my seeds and plants

(I promise to post a pic once it is totally finished)

Decompression Week

Finally delivered the last items I borrowed for the wedding

All except for the grill and a couple of mirrors

Cleaned up the garden and rearranged furniture

Working on finding a spot for the stuff piled on my kitchen table

Have been plucking the faded wedding blooms

And consolidating arrangements

In an attempt to hang onto their beauty

So sad to see them wilt away

Trying to get used to the bigger echo

As I shuffle through this big old house of mine.

The Wedding

It happened

It was lovely

And it was perfect

Love my family

And the many, many people who helped in preparations

From.....

My dear friend

and her daughter who created a.m.a.z.i.n.g. floral arrangements

The chef and bartender

My sister who brought down freshly harvested manzanita branches
from her property in the Sierras

The incredible group who prepared and served the food
Katie who worked her magic on Adeline's hair and makeup

My brother who provided the gorgeous bouquet for Adeline

And stunning floral arrangements in the living room

But a gigantic thanks goes to my sister, Martha....

Who really made this happen!
